GATE 2026 Admit Card Release Postponed — Revised Date Expected

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, which is conducting the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, has postponed the release of the GATE 2026 admit card that was earlier expected in early January 2026. The new release date for the hall ticket has not yet been announced; officials are expected to update the revised schedule on the official portal gate2026.iitg.ac.in soon. The GATE 2026 examination is scheduled to be held in four days — 07 February 2026, 08 February 2026, 14 February 2026 and 15 February 2026 — in multiple shifts across test centres nationwide, and the hall ticket is a mandatory document for entry to the exam halls.

How to Download GATE 2026 Admit Card?

Once the admit card is made available online, candidates can download it by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official GATE 2026 website: gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
  2. Go to the GOAPS login section.
  3. Enter the Enrolment ID/Registered Email and Password/Date of Birth.
  4. Click on the GATE Admit Card 2026 link to view the hall ticket.
  5. Download and print the admit card for exam day.

The admit card contains crucial details such as the candidate’s name, exam paper, date and time, exam venue, roll number and exam-day instructions.

 

Exam Dates & Important Instructions

The GATE 2026 exam will be conducted in two sessions — forenoon and afternoon — over four days across February 2026. Candidates must carry a printed copy of their GATE admit card along with a valid photo ID to the exam centre; entry without these documents will not be permitted.
