Students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) have raised concerns over the ongoing admission process for the FTII JET 2025. The protest began after the institute released a revised final merit list on October 24, 2025, which, according to students, violated reservation norms and lacked transparency. The FTII Students’ Association has urged the administration to pause the admission process until the alleged discrepancies in the merit list are resolved.
Allegations on FTII JET 2025 Revised Merit List
The controversy began when FTII first released the JET Final Merit List on October 17, 2025. Following several objections from aspirants regarding errors and inconsistencies, the institute withdrew the list and published a Revised Merit List a week later. However, the updated version has reportedly not addressed the concerns raised earlier. According to students, FTII did not release the stage-wise marks for the JET exam. The entrance exam includes two stages — a Written Test (Stage 1) and a Mixed Format Assessment (Stage 2) comprising practical, analytical, performance, and interaction components. Instead of publishing separate scores for both stages, FTII issued a combined total, making the assessment process unclear.
Reported Issues in FTII Admission 2025
These discrepancies have led to widespread discontent among students, who are seeking immediate action from the administration.
FTII Students’ Demands
The protesting students have made several demands aimed at ensuring fairness and transparency in the FTII JET 2025 admission process. They have urged the institute to:
- Suspend the ongoing admission process temporarily.
- Publish stage-wise marks of all shortlisted candidates.
- Ensure adherence to the reservation policy as per government guidelines.
- Conduct an internal inquiry into the admission process irregularities.
The Students’ Association has also requested the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to intervene and oversee the matter for a fair resolution.
