FTII Students Demand Pause in JET 2025 Admissions Over Merit List

FTII students are demanding a pause in the JET 2025 admission process following alleged irregularities in the institute’s reservation criteria. The Film and Television Institute of India released the revised FTII JET Final Merit List 2025 on October 24, 2025 on the official website.

The Students’ Association of FTII has raised concerns that the revised merit list is not transparent and does not follow the institute’s reservation policies. Students claim that the stage-wise marks for the entrance exam were not disclosed. FTII combined marks from Stage 1 (Written Test) and Stage 2 (Mixed Format Assessment: Practical, Analytical, Performance & Interaction) into a final score list, making the JET score unclear.

Issue with FTII Admissions Process 2025

The institute initially released the FTII JET Final Merit List on October 17, 2025. After student objections, FTII withdrew it and issued a Revised Merit List, citing errors in the first list. However, students continue to report discrepancies:

  • MFA in Screen Acting: Originally 16 seats, but 23 students listed as admitted.
  • Reservation quotas: SC (15%) and ST (7.5%) quotas appear reduced in the revised list.

FTII Admissions 2025: Students’ Demands

The student unions have requested the following from FTII:

  1. Stop the ongoing JET 2025 admission process.
  2. Release a merit list with stage-wise marks for both Stage 1 and Stage 2.
  3. Ensure transparency in the reservation policy and admission process.
  4. Conduct a proper investigation into the discrepancies.

Students insist that resolving these issues is crucial to maintain fairness in the FTII JET 2025 admissions.
