Curriculum Reform and AI Integration
Prof. Sahasrabuddhe highlighted that curriculum relevance is critical, as outdated learning leads to unemployable graduates. AI can assist in designing personalized learning pathways, but human oversight remains essential to avoid bias. Emphasis was placed on critical thinking, analytical abilities, multidisciplinary exposure, and digital inclusivity, ensuring even students in remote areas can access high-quality education. Dr. Ranjan addressed concerns about AI potentially widening the education gap. He emphasized using AI to personalize student assessments, track academic progress, and provide guidance for higher education or entrepreneurship, creating 360° student development plans.
Impact on Teachers and Students
Speakers stressed that despite AI advancements, teachers’ roles remain vital to guide students, interpret technology, and foster values. Programs like the Universal Human Values induction and faculty upskilling through Guru Setu ensure quality education and industry readiness. The conference also emphasized employability, noting that only 20–30% of graduates can be absorbed by industry, highlighting the need for entrepreneurship education. India’s registered start-ups have surged from 400 to 1,57,000 in the last decade, reflecting a growing entrepreneurial culture.
