Selection Process for Delhi Special Schools
Admissions will be granted based on the availability of seats in each school and class. If the number of applicants exceeds the available capacity, the selection will be conducted through a draw of lots.
The draw, if required, will be organised on 24 March 2026 at 11 AM in the presence of school management committee members and parents to maintain transparency in the process.
After document verification and completion of the selection process, the heads of schools will submit the final list of selected candidates on 25 March 2026 to the Inclusive Education Branch headquarters.
Facilities in Delhi Government Special Schools
The 12 institutions participating in the admission process provide specialised educational facilities for children with disabilities. These schools are designed to support students through inclusive education practices and specialised learning resources.
The schools cater to students with conditions such as:
- Visual impairment
- Intellectual disabilities
- Other disability categories defined under government guidelines
These institutions follow specific age criteria, disability categories, and eligibility rules prescribed under inclusive education policies.
Waiting List Admissions After Seat Allotment
After the initial allotment of seats on 01 April 2026, the admission process will continue for students placed on the waiting list.
If seats remain vacant after the first round, admissions will be offered to candidates on the waiting list between 03 April and 05 April 2026, depending on their position in the list.
The Directorate of Education aims to complete the entire admission process by 02 April 2026, ensuring that eligible children receive timely access to specialised education facilities for the new academic session.
