Delhi Nursery Admission 2026 Second Merit List Out; Final List Date

The Delhi Nursery Admission 2026 second merit list has been released by private unaided schools across the national capital. More than 1,700 private schools have uploaded their second admission merit lists along with waiting lists on their respective official websites for the 2026–27 academic session. Parents of shortlisted candidates are required to visit the allotted schools between February 10 and February 16, 2026, to complete the admission formalities. Schools have clarified that failure to report within the stipulated time may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

 

Delhi Nursery Admission 2026: Waiting List and Final Merit List Date

As per the second merit list data, a large number of applicants have been placed on the waiting list. These candidates still have a chance of securing admission as schools will release the Delhi Nursery final merit list on March 5, 2026. The Delhi Nursery Admission 2026 process will conclude on March 19, 2026, after the completion of all admission rounds. Schools are expected to fill remaining vacant seats from the waiting list before the conclusion of the admission schedule.

 

School-Wise Highlights from Delhi Nursery Second Merit List

According to available information, several prominent private schools have released their second merit lists:

  • Sovereign School, Rohini shortlisted 409 students
  • Gita Ratan School selected 136 candidates
  • St George’s School, Alaknanda confirmed admission for 155 students
  • Loreto Convent School, Delhi Cantonment shortlisted 11 students
  • Delhi Public School (DPS), East of Kailash selected 14 students and placed 132 candidates on the waiting list
  • Apeejay School, Saket confirmed 150 admissions and kept 176 students on standby

Parents are advised to regularly check the respective school websites for updated notices regarding document verification and fee submission.

 

Delhi Nursery Admission 2026: Age Criteria

The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi, has defined the age eligibility for admissions under the foundational stage, which includes Nursery, Kindergarten (KG), and Class 1. For the 2026–27 academic session, the minimum age criteria are:

  • Nursery: 3 years
  • Kindergarten (KG): 4 years
  • Class 1: 5 years

The age is calculated as on March 31, 2026. Schools are allowed to provide an age relaxation of up to one month, subject to the discretion of the head of the institution. Admissions to private unaided schools were conducted based on parameters such as neighbourhood distance, sibling preference, alumni status, and other criteria approved by the DoE. Parents whose children are currently on the waiting list are advised to stay alert for further updates, as movement in the final merit list is expected before the admission process concludes.
