With only a short time left to apply, CUET UG 2026 registration is approaching its final deadline. Candidates aiming to take the Common University Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026 must complete their applications before the closing date on 30 January 2026 through the official NTA portal.

 

CUET UG 2026 Registration Deadline and Fee Timeline

The National Testing Agency (NTA) opened the CUET UG 2026 application process on 3 January 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in. The online registration will close on 30 January 2026 at 11:50 PM. Students who have submitted the application must ensure that the application fee is paid by 31 January 2026 (11:50 PM) to complete the process successfully.

 

This deadline applies to all candidates, regardless of the number of subjects chosen for the exam. Aspirants are advised not to wait until the final hours, as the portal may experience heavy traffic and technical issues near the closing date.

 

How to Apply for CUET UG 2026

Candidates must follow a structured process to submit their CUET UG 2026 application form:

  1. Visit the official CUET UG portal at cuet.nta.nic.in
  2. Click on the registration link and complete the initial registration with basic details.
  3. Log in with generated credentials and fill in personal, academic and contact information.
  4. Select the subjects/papers the candidate intends to appear for in the exam
  5. Upload scanned documents, including a recent photograph and signature as per specifications.
  6. Pay the application fee online using available payment modes.
  7. Review and submit the form, then download the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates should ensure all details are correct before submission to avoid complications during later stages of the admission process.

 

Application Fee Structure

The CUET UG 2026 application fees vary based on category and number of subjects:

  • General (UR): ₹1000 for up to 3 subjects + an additional fee per subject if more are chosen.
  • OBC (NCL) / EWS: ₹900 for up to 3 subjects.
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Third gender: ₹800 for up to 3 subjects.

Additional charges apply for extra subjects beyond the initial three, with specific amounts defined by NTA.

 

What Happens After Registration Closes?

Once the registration and fee payment deadlines pass:

  • A correction window is expected to open from 2 to 4 February 2026, allowing applicants to make permissible changes to their submitted forms.
  • NTA will later issue an exam city slip indicating the allotted test centre city for registered candidates
  • The CUET UG 2026 admit card is anticipated to be released ahead of the exam period.
  • CUET UG 2026 is scheduled to be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode between 11 May and 31 May 2026 across exam centres in India and abroad.
