Around 5,03,482 candidates registered for CUET PG 2026, and 4,06,666 of them completed the registration process with fee payment. CUET PG 2026 Registrations: Over 5 Lakh Students Registered So Far

The Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate Programmes (CUET PG) 2026 has seen robust registration activity as the exam season approaches. According to the latest compiled data, an estimated 5,03,482 candidates submitted their applications for the national level entrance test, with 4,06,666 of those candidates completing their registrations with fee payment by the deadline.The CUET PG exam, which serves as the gateway to admission in a wide range of postgraduate programmes across central and participating universities, is scheduled to be conducted in March 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the official registration figures and exam details as the process progresses.

 

Registration Breakdown and Candidate Choices

Analysis of the registration trend shows that most applicants opted to register for three or four subject tests, reflecting the exam’s multidisciplinary appeal and the multiple programmes that candidates plan to pursue using CUET PG scores.The fee payment count of 4,06,666 indicates the number of registrations that were completed successfully, as candidates must pay the exam fee to finalise their participation. The remaining registrants are those who submitted the initial form but may not have completed fee payment before the deadline.

 

Comparison with Previous Year

In contrast to the current cycle’s figures, the CUET PG 2025 cycle saw around 6,54,019 registrations, of which 5,23,032 candidates appeared in the exam. This comparison shows a slight decrease in overall registrations, though the data for 2026 is yet to be officially confirmed by NTA.

 

What’s Next for CUET PG Aspirants?

Candidates who have registered and completed fee payment should now prepare for the forthcoming exam scheduled for March 2026. The NTA is expected to roll out the city intimation slip, admit card and exam schedule in the coming weeks as part of the examination process. Aspiring postgraduate students are advised to continue revision, practise mock tests and keep track of official notifications regarding exam timings and test centre details, which will be shared by the testing agency ahead of the test.
