Madhya Pradesh has brought all postgraduate admissions under the CUET framework, making the entrance test compulsory across universities. CUET-PG 2026 applications close on 20 January 2026, with a brief correction window scheduled afterward.
Postgraduate aspirants seeking admission in Madhya Pradesh will now have to qualify the Common University Entrance Test for PG (CUET-PG), as the state has made the exam compulsory for admissions across universities and colleges. The decision applies to both government and private institutions and standardises the PG admission process statewide. With the new rule in place, candidates must ensure they have completed the CUET-PG 2026 application process before the imminent deadline.
CUET-PG 2026 Application Deadline and Correction Window
The registration process for CUET-PG 2026 is being conducted by the National Testing Agency. Applicants are required to complete online registration and fee payment within the stipulated timeline. Key dates candidates should note:
- Last date to apply: 20 January 2026 (11:50 PM)
- Application correction window: 23 January 2026 to 25 January 2026
Only applications with successful fee payment will be treated as complete. Forms submitted after the deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Madhya Pradesh Adopts CUET Framework for PG Admissions
Under the revised admission policy, all postgraduate admissions in Madhya Pradesh will be conducted exclusively on the basis of CUET-PG scores. This move replaces institution-level merit lists and direct admission processes previously followed by universities. The new framework also aligns admissions with academic continuity. Candidates will be required to apply for postgraduate courses that correspond to their undergraduate subject background, in accordance with prescribed eligibility norms.
Impact on Universities and Colleges in the State
By shifting to a single entrance test, the state aims to bring greater transparency, uniformity, and comparability in PG admissions. Universities will now rely on CUET-PG scores for shortlisting and seat allocation, reducing variations in admission criteria across institutions. The change is expected to simplify the admission process for students applying to multiple universities within the state.
What PG Aspirants Should Do Now?
With limited time remaining, candidates who have not yet applied for CUET-PG 2026 are advised to complete registration immediately. Applicants should carefully review personal details, subject choices, and uploaded documents before final submission. Candidates are also advised to download and retain the confirmation page and monitor official updates regarding admit cards, exam schedules, and counselling procedures for PG admissions in Madhya Pradesh.
