CUET Admission Test 2025 Scheduled for January 17, Check Seats

The Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) has officially announced that its undergraduate admission test for the academic year 2025–26 will be held on January 17, 2026. The decision was finalized during the 162nd emergency meeting of the CUET Academic Council held on October 27, 2025. According to the CUET Central Admission Committee, the detailed circular outlining eligibility, application process, and schedule will be released soon. The admission test will be conducted in two separate groups — Group A and Group B, each following a distinct pattern and marking scheme.

CUET 2025: Group-Wise Exam Pattern

The CUET 2025 exam will be conducted in two groups, designed to test candidates’ analytical and conceptual understanding of science subjects.

 

Group A

Group A includes all engineering departments along with the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. The exam will carry 500 marks and will include four subjects — Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English. Each of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will have 15 questions, while English will include 5 questions.

 

Group B

Group B covers all the Group A departments and also includes the Department of Architecture.

  • Total Marks: 700
  • Written Test: 500 marks (same as Group A)
  • Freehand Drawing Test: 200 marks

This format is aimed at evaluating both technical and creative abilities among students applying for architecture and design-based disciplines.

 

CUET 2025: Seat Distribution

As per university sources, CUET will offer 931 seats across 12 departments under four faculties — Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Architecture. Out of these, 11 seats will remain reserved under designated categories.
