CTET February 2026 Exam Date Announced, Registrations Expected Soon

The CBSE has announced the exam date for the 21st edition of CTET. The CTET February 2026 examination will be conducted on Sunday, February 8, 2026, across 132 cities in India. Candidates can choose from 20 languages while appearing for the test.

 

The official Information Bulletin is expected to be published shortly on the CTET website (ctet.nic.in). It will contain details on registration, exam syllabus, eligibility, fees, exam cities, and important dates. CBSE has advised candidates to apply only through the official portal and read the bulletin carefully before submitting the application.

 

CTET February 2026: Exam Details

CTET is a mandatory qualifying test for teaching positions in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS), and other central government schools. The exam consists of two papers:

  • Paper I – For teaching Classes 1–5
  • Paper II – For teaching Classes 6–8

Both papers contain 150 multiple-choice questions. There is no negative marking. Traditionally, Paper II is held in the morning session (9:30 am – 12 noon), and Paper I in the afternoon session (2 pm – 4:30 pm).

 

When Will CTET February 2026 Registrations Begin?

Based on past trends, CBSE usually opens registrations 60–90 days before the exam. For CTET February 2026, the registration window is expected around the last week of October or early November 2025.

Why Was the CTET July 2025 Exam Not Held?

CBSE has not officially stated the reason for skipping the July 2025 session. Reports suggest the decision may be related to timeline adjustments in CTET to better align with the academic calendar and teacher recruitment schedule.
