The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 application form will be released soon by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The board will conduct the CTET February 2026 examination on February 8, 2026, in two sessions for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The official CTET 2026 notification PDF is expected to be released by October 31, 2025, on the official website — ctet.nic.in. The notification will contain details such as eligibility, exam pattern, syllabus, and important dates.

CTET 2026 Exam Details

The CTET February 2026 exam will be conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode. The exam will include two papers

  • Paper 1: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5
  • Paper 2: For candidates aspiring to teach Classes 6 to 8

Both papers will carry 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each worth one mark. There is no negative marking in CTET.

 

Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2026

Candidates applying for the CTET 2026 exam must meet the eligibility conditions prescribed by CBSE:

 

For Paper 1 (Classes 1–5):

  • Must have passed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
  • Must have completed or be appearing in a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).

For Paper 2 (Classes 6–8):

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks.
  • Should have completed or be appearing in a 2-year D.El.Ed or 1-year B.Ed programme.

Only those who meet these criteria will be eligible to register for the CTET February 2026 exam.

 

How to Apply Online for CTET 2026?

Candidates can follow the steps below to complete the CTET 2026 registration process once the link becomes active:

  1. Visit the official website — ctet.nic.in.
  2. Click on the ‘CTET February 2026 Apply Online’ link on the homepage.
  3. Complete the new registration process using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  4. Log in and fill out the application form with academic and personal details.
  5. Upload scanned copies of a passport-size photograph and signature.
  6. Pay the required application fee online.
  7. Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
