The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research is expected to release the CSIR NET 2026 June session notification soon on its official website. Candidates preparing for the National Eligibility Test are advised to regularly check the portal for updates related to the exam schedule and application process. CSIR NET is conducted twice every year to determine eligibility for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts in science subjects. The June session is one of the major examination cycles and witnesses participation from thousands of science graduates and postgraduates across the country.
CSIR NET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility conditions before applying for the June session examination.
- Applicants should have completed MS or equivalent degree, BE/B.Tech, B.Pharm, MBBS, Integrated BS-MS, or 4-year BS from a recognised institution.
- Minimum qualifying marks:
- 55% for General/OBC/EWS candidates
- 50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates
- Age limit for JRF: Maximum 28 years as of 1 January 2026
- Relaxation: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST/PwD candidates
- Lectureship (NET): No upper age limit
