The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the exam to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (Assistant Professor) positions in science and technology fields. CSIR NET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility conditions:

• Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
• Age Limit:
  • JRF: Maximum 28 years as on December 1, 2025 (relaxation up to 5 years for SC/ST/PwD/female and 3 years for OBC candidates).
  • Lectureship (LS): No upper age limit.
• Educational Qualification:
  • Master’s degree in Science stream with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD).
  • Final-year postgraduate students are also eligible to apply.

Candidates can pay the application fee online using a debit card, credit card, UPI, or net banking.

How to Apply for CSIR NET 2025 December Session?

Candidates who have not yet applied can follow the steps below to complete the registration process before the deadline:

1. Visit the official website – csirnet.nta.nic.in.
2. Click on “Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2025: Register/Login”.
3. Select “New Candidate Register Here” and enter basic details such as name, mother’s name, date of birth, and email ID.
4. On successful registration, a system-generated application number will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number.
5. Log in using the application number and password.
6. Fill in the required personal, academic, and communication details.
7. Upload scanned copies of the passport-size photograph, signature, and other certificates (as per prescribed dimensions).
8. Pay the application fee online.
9. Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

CSIR NET 2025 Correction Window

NTA will open the CSIR NET 2025 correction facility from October 26 to October 28, 2025. During this period, registered candidates will be allowed to edit certain fields like academic details, exam city preferences, or uploaded documents. Once the correction window closes, no further edits will be accepted.
