CMAT 2026 MBA Cut-Offs Expected Soon at Participating Institutes
After the declaration of the CMAT 2026 result by the National Testing Agency, MBA colleges accepting Common Management Admission Test scores are expected to release their cut-offs and admission criteria soon. Institutes will shortlist candidates based on percentile, All India Rank (AIR), academic background, and institute-specific selection process. Candidates aiming for top colleges are advised to regularly check the official websites of participating institutes for shortlisting announcements and admission updates.
How CMAT Percentile Is Calculated?
The National Testing Agency calculates CMAT percentile by comparing a candidate’s performance with all test-takers. The percentile does not reflect raw marks. It indicates relative performance in the exam.
The formula used for calculation is:
Percentile (P) = 100 × (Number of candidates with raw marks equal to or less than the candidate ÷ Total number of candidates appeared)
For example, if 10,000 candidates appear and one candidate secures Rank 1, the percentile will be calculated as:100 × 9999 / 10,000 = 99.99 percentile.
Since CMAT is conducted in multiple shifts, NTA applies a percentile equivalence method to maintain fairness across sessions.
What Is a Good Score in CMAT 2025?
CMAT consists of 100 questions, each carrying 4 marks, making the total 400 marks. A score between 295–305+ marks is generally considered strong and may correspond to 99.5 percentile or above, depending on exam difficulty.
A score of 200 marks out of 400 is regarded as competitive. Based on previous trends, 200 marks may translate to a percentile between 70–80, and in some cases even 80–90, depending on overall performance and number of candidates. Final percentile confirmation is available only after the declaration of CMAT results.
