The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) is set to declare the CMA Intermediate December 2025 results on February 11, 2026. Candidates who appeared for the CMA Inter examination conducted between December 10 and December 17, 2025, will be able to check their results on the official ICMAI website once released. Based on feedback from students, faculty members and previous result trends, the CMA Inter Dec 2025 pass percentage is expected to remain low, in line with historical patterns of the examination.
Expected CMA Inter Pass Percentage
According to exam analysis and expert estimates, the expected pass percentage for candidates who appeared in both groups of the CMA Intermediate exam is likely to be in the range of 8 per cent to 10 per cent. For candidates who appeared only for Group 1, the pass percentage is expected to be slightly higher, ranging between 10 per cent and 12 per cent. Historically, Group 2 of CMA Intermediate has recorded better pass rates compared to Group 1 across multiple sessions. ICMAI is known for maintaining strict evaluation standards, which contributes to consistently low pass percentages in the CMA Intermediate course.

The subject has a vast syllabus and demands strong conceptual understanding along with accurate practical application, making it difficult for many candidates to score high marks. In Group 2, Management Accounting emerges as the biggest hurdle. The paper requires a strong grasp of concepts such as decision-making techniques, marginal costing, standard costing and transfer pricing, along with extensive numerical practice.
Other Factors Affecting CMA Inter Results
Apart from subject difficulty, individual preparation strategies also influence overall result trends. Common reasons for poor performance include:
- Selective study, where candidates skip portions of the syllabus
- Lack of writing practice, as many students focus only on reading solutions
- Neglect of theory portions, especially in Management Accounting and Financial Management
- Underestimating the difficulty level, treating CMA exams like regular university examinations
Several academic experts and coaching institutes consider the ICMAI CMA examination among the toughest professional courses in the world, requiring disciplined preparation and strong conceptual clarity.
How to Improve CMA Inter Performance?
To improve pass percentages, candidates are advised to focus on conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation, practise answer writing regularly, and prepare all subjects comprehensively without leaving topics uncovered. The CMA Inter Dec
