CLAT 2026 Objection Window Closes Tomorrow; Steps & Key Updates

The CLAT 2026 answer key objection window will close tomorrow, December 12, at 5 PM. The Consortium of National Law Universities has kept the window open for two days following the release of the CLAT 2026 provisional answer key on December 10. Students who took the law entrance test on December 7 and wish to dispute any answer must submit objections before the deadline. The portal for objections is active on consortiumofnlus.ac.in, where students can log in and review both the answer key and responses marked during the exam. The Consortium has urged students to avoid last-minute submissions to prevent technical delays.

CLAT 2026 Objection Window: Important Update

This year, the Consortium introduced a key change by reducing the CLAT Answer Key objection fee. Students are now required to pay ₹500 per question, compared to the earlier ₹1,000. The payment must be made online while submitting the objection request. The reduced fee aims to encourage deeper scrutiny and ensure fairness in evaluating contested questions.

How to Challenge the CLAT 2026 Provisional Answer Key?

The process for raising objections is fully online. Students who appeared for the exam can follow the steps shared below:

  • Visit consortiumofnlus.ac.in
  • Log in using registration number and password
  • Click the Provisional Answer Key Objection tab
  • Select the question to challenge
  • Upload clear supporting proof or references
  • Pay the CLAT 2026 objection fee and submit the request

Each objection must be backed with reliable academic sources. Unsupported submissions will not be considered during the review process.

What Happens After the Objection Window Closes?

Once the objection window shuts at 5 PM tomorrow, the Consortium will evaluate all the challenges received. The review will determine whether modifications are needed in the existing provisional key. After completing the verification process, the Consortium will release the CLAT 2026 Final Answer Key. The date for the final answer key announcement has not yet been confirmed. The CLAT 2026 result will be prepared based entirely on the final key, with no further opportunity for objections afterward.

Students Advised to Review Carefully

With only a short time left before the window closes, students are advised to cross-check answers thoroughly and submit well-supported challenges. The provisional key plays a crucial role in determining expected scores, especially for top NLU admissions.
