The Consortium of National Law Universities will release the CLAT 2026 provisional answer key on December 10, 2025 at 5 PM for both UG and PG examinations. Candidates who appeared for the Common Law Admission Test held on December 7, 2025 will be able to check the official responses along with their individual response sheets. The answer key will be released in 2 phases, starting with the provisional version, followed by the final answer key after the objection window closes. The CLAT 2026 Result will be prepared only on the basis of the final key.
CLAT 2026 Answer Key Release Schedule and Objection Window
The answer key release process plays a crucial role in maintaining transparency. Candidates can verify their marked responses and estimate probable scores before the declaration of the final results. Before checking the important dates, candidates must note that the objection facility allows only limited time for submitting challenges with supporting evidence.
The final CLAT 2026 answer key will be released after reviewing all valid objections received during this period.
How to Download CLAT 2026 Answer Key and Response Sheet?
The CLAT 2026 provisional answer key will be available separately for UG and PG programmes. Candidates must use the official portal to access both the answer key and the response sheet. Before starting the download process, applicants should keep their CLAT login credentials ready to avoid technical delays during peak traffic hours.
- Visit the official Consortium portal
- Click on the CLAT 2026 notification section
- Select the UG or PG answer key option as applicable
- Open the answer key document
- Download and save the file for score calculation
- Log in separately to view the CLAT 2026 response sheet
The response sheet will display the answers marked by the candidate in the actual examination.
CLAT 2026 Marking Scheme and Score Estimation
Using the answer key, candidates can calculate their expected score based on the official marking scheme. For every correct answer, 1 mark is awarded, while 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect response. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions. This estimated score offers an early indication of qualification chances and helps candidates plan counselling preferences in advance.
What Happens After the Final Answer Key?
Once the objection window closes on December 12, 2025, the Consortium will analyze all valid challenges. After revisions, if any, the CLAT 2026 final answer key will be published. The CLAT 2026 result and merit list will be generated strictly on the basis of the revised final key. Qualified candidates will then participate in CLAT 2026 counselling for admissions into National Law Universities, as per their rank and category-wise seat availability. The release of the CLAT Answer Key 2026 marks the beginning of the final admission phase for law aspirants across the country.
