CHSE Odisha Introduces Plus II Improvement Exam from 2026 after the Council of Higher Secondary Education approved a new provision allowing students to improve their marks. The decision was taken during a meeting of the examination committee held recently. Under the new rule, students who have passed the Annual Higher Secondary Examination (AHSE) will be allowed to reappear in one subject if they wish to improve their scores.
CHSE Odisha Plus II Improvement Exam Policy
The improvement examination policy will be implemented starting from the current academic year. The initiative aims to give students an additional opportunity to enhance their performance in a specific subject. According to Prashant Kumar Parida, Controller of Examinations of CHSE, students can choose to reappear in one subject for any reason if they want to improve their marks. This provision will only apply to students who have already passed the Plus II examination.
Eligibility for CHSE Plus II Improvement Examination
The council has clarified that the improvement examination will not be available for all candidates. Only those students who have successfully passed the examination will be eligible to apply. The key eligibility conditions include:
- The student must have passed the Plus II (Class 12) examination.
- The improvement attempt will be allowed only in one subject.
- The option is meant specifically for students who want to improve their marks.
Students who fail in subjects will need to follow the regular supplementary examination process as per existing rules.
CHSE Improvement Exam Result Timeline
The council has also provided a timeline for announcing the results of the improvement examination. Officials stated that the results will be declared within two months after the examination is conducted. This timeline is intended to ensure that students can use the improved marks for higher education admissions without significant delay. The introduction of the improvement examination is expected to benefit many students who want to strengthen their academic records for college admissions and competitive examinations.
