CBSE Suspends GD Goenka High School Gurugram Affiliation for 2026–27 Academic Year, as the Central Board of Secondary Education has taken strict action against the institution following an inspection that found serious safety and infrastructure violations. The decision was reported on 30 December 2025 and applies to the upcoming academic session. CBSE’s disciplinary measure emphasises that student safety and compliance with affiliation norms are non-negotiable requirements for all affiliated schools.
Reason Behind Suspension of Affiliation
The board’s inspection revealed that GD Goenka High School, located in Sohna, Gurugram, was operating on a shared campus with two other educational institutions and even a university programme from the same building, without proper physical segregation or a secure boundary wall. Such arrangements were flagged as serious safety risks that could expose students to bullying, harassment, or unauthorised interaction with outsiders. CBSE underlined that a school’s campus must be fully secured and not accessible to individuals from other institutions. The school was unable to segregate and establish independent facilities for each entity within the required timeframe, prompting the suspension order.
Key Directives Issued by CBSE
Under the suspension order, the board has outlined the following directives for the institution:
- The school’s affiliation is suspended for the entire 2026–27 academic year.
- New admissions to Classes 9 and 11 will not be permitted during this period.
- Students currently enrolled in Classes 9 to 12 may continue their education at the school, subject to compliance with safety measures.
- The school must disengage all other institutions from its campus to ensure exclusive use of buildings and facilities.
- Separate entry and exit points must be created from the main road.
- A six-foot-high concrete boundary wall must be constructed around the entire campus.
- Shared use of infrastructure or staff with other entities must be stopped immediately.
- A Composite Science Laboratory must be established as per CBSE standards.
