The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised the Class 10 and Class 12 board examination schedule for 2026. As per the latest notification, the board examinations will now be conducted from February 17 to April 10, 2026, in pen-and-paper mode. The revised schedule was issued on December 30, 2025, with changes made to a limited number of subjects. CBSE has clarified that no other dates have been altered apart from those officially notified.
Key Changes in CBSE Board Exam Dates 2026
According to the revised timetable:
- Class 10 examination scheduled on March 3 has been postponed to March 11, 2026
- Class 12 examination earlier fixed for March 3 has been rescheduled to April 10, 2026
CBSE stated that the revision was necessary to avoid subject overlap and ensure smooth conduct of examinations across centres.

Revised CBSE Class 12 Exam Schedule 2026
Class 12 examinations will begin with subjects such as Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship and Shorthand on February 17. Core subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Business Studies and Economics are spread across February and March. The Legal Studies examination, earlier scheduled for March 3, will now be conducted on April 10, 2026, marking the conclusion of the Class 12 board exams.
Revised CBSE Class 10 Exam Schedule 2026
Class 10 examinations will commence with Mathematics (Standard and Basic) on February 17. Major subjects such as Science, Social Science, English and Hindi will be conducted between late February and early March. The rescheduled paper on March 11 will now be conducted as per the updated board notification.
