CBSE, CISCE 2026 Pre Board Exams: Tentative Schedule and Guidelines

CBSE has shared a tentative window for Class 10 and 12 board exams 2026 from February 15 to April 09, 2026. Schools use this timeline to plan pre board exams in December and January and complete practical exams in early 2026.

Students are currently preparing for pre board exams, while many seek an official schedule from CBSE or CISCE. It is important to note that neither board releases pre board exam dates, as these are internally conducted by schools to assess readiness for the final board exams.

CBSE Schools Plan Pre Boards Based on Board Timelines

A CBSE school principal in Ghaziabad, CSP Singh, stated, “We finish syllabus by late November and begin pre boardsby mid December so students have sufficient time for revision before final exams.”

Schools schedule pre boards according to syllabus completion, local holidays, and internal timelines. The tentative board exam dates help schools plan the academic calendar efficiently.

ICSE Schools Conduct Mock Exams Independently

From Chandigarh, an ICSE school head mentioned, “We conduct mock exams in December to help students get familiar with the board format. CISCE usually releases its official timetable later, so schools set dates independently.”

Advisory for Students and Parents

Pre board exams may differ from school to school. Students and parents should follow school circulars and official websites, cbse.gov.in and cisce.org, for confirmed updates. Avoid relying on unverified online posts regarding exam dates. Staying informed about the latest educational events ensures students are well-prepared and on schedule.
