The Central Board of Secondary Education has officially announced the Board Exam 2026 update. The update includes key information about registration dates, eligibility, exam schedule, and further admission process for students appearing in Class 10 and Class 12 examinations.

Eligibility Criteria for CBSE Board Exam 2026

To appear for the CBSE Board Exam 2026, candidates must meet the required academic and age criteria set by CBSE:

  • Must have completed the qualifying class (Class 10 or Class 12 as applicable).
  • Minimum marks required: As per CBSE norms (not yet specified).
  • Age limit: As per CBSE policy (standard eligibility applies).
  • Relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per the rules.

 

CBSE Board Exam 2026 Application Process

The application process is conducted online through the CBSE official website. Candidates can follow these steps:

  • Visit the official CBSE website.
  • Click on “Apply for Board Exam 2026”.
  • Register with basic details and create login credentials.
  • Fill out the application form accurately.
  • Upload the required documents in the prescribed format.
  • Pay the application fee and submit the form.

 

CBSE Board Exam 2026 Exam Pattern

The Board Exam 2026 will be conducted in offline mode for theory papers. Key points:

  • Major shift toward competency-based questions: 50% weightage for competency-based questions in Class 10 papers.
  • Objective/MCQ portion: About 20%.
  • Short & long answer (descriptive) portion: About 30%.
  • Duration and total marks: Typically theory paper is 80 marks + internal assessment 20 marks.
  • Two-phase exam schedule: For Class 10 at least, Phase 1 mandatory, Phase 2 optional improvement.

 

CBSE Board Exam 2026 Result and Counselling

After the exam, the Board Exam 2026 result will be released on the official CBSE website. Qualified candidates will be eligible to participate in further processes for higher secondary admissions or whatever counselling/admission process applies for their desired stream or course.
