CBSE 2nd Board Exam 2026 Schedule Released for Class 10

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the schedule for the Class 10 Second Board Examination 2026 under its new two-board exam policy. This policy allows students a second chance to improve their scores in a given academic year.

The second board exam enables Class 10 students to reappear in selected subjects, with a maximum of three subjects per student. This initiative is aimed at reducing academic stress and providing students with flexibility to improve their performance.

  • Only students genuinely seeking improvement should opt for the second examination.
  • Compartment students will have to submit a fresh LOC with potentially different subject combinations.

CBSE Exam Dates and Key Deadlines

The second board exams will be conducted in May 2026, while subject-wise dates will be announced soon. Important deadlines for List of Candidates (LOC) submission and fee payment are as follows:

  • LOC Submission (Phase 1): 18 to 31 March 2026
  • Fee Payment (Phase 1): 1–5 days after result declaration
  • LOC Submission (Phase 2): 1–5 days after result declaration

  • LOC Submission with Late Fee (Phase 3): 7–8 days after result declaration
  • Fee Payment with Late Fee (Phase 3): 7–8 days after result declaration

The board has emphasized that the system will close at 11:59 pm on the last day of each phase.

Who Submits the LOC?

School principals will receive eligibility information and assist students in submitting their LOCs. Students must also carefully select subjects and ensure proper fee payment.

Importance of CBSE Second Board Exam

The two-board exam policy aims to make the process more flexible and student-friendly. It offers a second opportunity to improve results while ensuring transparent conduct of exams. Students and schools are expected to follow regulations and authentication processes strictly.

Advisory for Students

  • Participate only if necessary to avoid logistical issues.
  • Complete LOC submission and fee payment within deadlines to avoid disqualification.
  • Follow official instructions for a smooth exam experience.

With this initiative, CBSE provides students with a chance to improve performance, ensuring fairness, transparency, and stress-free exam management in the 2026 academic session.
