CBSE 12th Result 2026: Key Facts

This year's results have raised questions regarding the evaluation methods employed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The introduction of an on-screen marking system has been a focal point of discussion. This system was implemented to enhance the accuracy of the marking process and reduce errors in totaling, posting, and uploading scores. However, many students and parents are questioning whether this new method has contributed to the decline in pass percentages.

• Pass Percentage 2026: 85.20%
• Pass Percentage 2025: 88.39%
• Evaluation Method: On-screen marking system

Despite CBSE's assurances that the evaluation process was conducted fairly, there are indications that the board may be adopting a stricter assessment approach. Experts have linked the drop in pass percentage not only to the new marking system but also to the implementation of competency-based evaluations and potentially tougher question papers.
