The registration window opened on August 3, 2026, and no candidate will be allowed to appear for CAT 2026 without successfully completing the application process.

IIM Indore will conduct the CAT 2026 exam on November 29, 2026. The examination will be held in computer-based mode across more than 170 cities in India.

How to Apply for CAT 2026?

Candidates can complete the CAT 2026 registration process through the official CAT website. The application process requires candidates to enter personal and academic details, upload documents, select preferred cities and pay the application fee.

Candidates can follow these steps:

1. Visit the official CAT website at iimcat.ac.in.
2. Click on the CAT 2026 registration link.
3. Complete the new candidate registration using the required details.
4. Log in using the credentials generated during registration.
5. Enter personal, academic and other required information.
6. Upload the photograph, signature and applicable certificates.
7. Select the preferred programmes and IIMs.
8. Select five preferred CAT 2026 test cities.
9. Pay the applicable application fee.
10. Review the complete application form.
11. Submit the CAT 2026 application form.
12. Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

CAT 2026 Application Fee

Candidates belonging to different categories have to pay different CAT 2026 application fees. General, EWS and NC-OBC candidates have to pay ₹2,700, while SC, ST and PwD candidates have to pay ₹1,350.

The application fee has to be paid online during the registration process.

CAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for CAT 2026 must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. For candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories, the minimum required marks are 45%.

Candidates who are currently in the final year of their bachelor's degree can also apply, subject to fulfilling the prescribed admission requirements. Professional degree holders such as CA, CS and CMA candidates can also be eligible to appear for CAT.

There is no age limit for appearing in the CAT examination.

CAT 2026 Exam Pattern

The CAT 2026 exam will be conducted in three sections:

• Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
• Quantitative Ability (QA)

The examination will be conducted in three sessions on November 29. Each session will have a duration of two hours.

Candidates should use the remaining preparation time strategically and focus on mock tests, previous-year questions, sectional practice and time management.
