The CAT 2025 is scheduled to be held on 30‑11‑2025 (Sunday) across the country in computer‑based mode. The exam will be conducted in three slots. All registered candidates must follow exam‑day rules strictly to avoid disqualification. The exam is one of the most competitive MBA entrance tests in India, and proper awareness about timings, reporting, and permitted items will be critical for a smooth experience.
CAT 2025 Slot Schedule and Reporting Timings
The exam will be held across three time‑slots. Candidates should arrive well ahead of time at their allotted test centre to complete verification formalities.
Exam duration for all slots is 120 minutes (2 hours). The test comprises three sections: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). Each section is allocated 40 minutes. For PwD‑candidates, additional time as per norms will be provided.
What Candidates Must Carry and Entry Rules?
To ensure smooth entry and avoid last‑minute hassles, candidates must carry the following:
- A printed copy of the CAT 2025 Admit Card downloaded from the official portal
- A valid photo identity proof (such as Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, or Driving License) matching the details on admit card
- Simple and acceptable clothing — avoid garments with many pockets, metallic items, jewellery or prohibited accessories
Candidates must reach the exam centre at least one hour before reporting time. Late entry after gate closure will not be permitted under any circumstances.
Exam‑Day Do’s and Don’ts for CAT 2025
To avoid disqualification or stress at the exam centre, candidates should follow these guidelines carefully:
Do’s:
- Reach centre well before the reporting time and complete biometric/ID verification.
- Keep admit card and valid ID ready for inspection.
- Dress appropriately — simple clothes, no heavy accessories or prohibited items.
- Manage time wisely during the exam, section‑wise, prioritizing accuracy over speed.
Don’ts:
- Do not carry electronic devices, study materials, watches, or any prohibited item.
- Avoid leaving the hall before the exam ends. Early exit may lead to disqualification.
- Do not tamper with computer settings or attempt any unfair means — the exam is computer‑based and under strict surveillance.
What After CAT 2025 Exam?
Once CAT 2025 is over for all slots, the conducting body will release answer keys and results as per schedule. Qualified candidates can expect further shortlisting rounds, interview calls, and admission procedures based on IIM and other participating B‑school norms. Candidates are advised to keep admit cards and photo ID proofs safely until the admissions process completes successfully. It is also recommended to plan travel and stay arrangements in advance for exam day, especially if the test centre is away from home.
