The CAT 2025 exam is being conducted on 30-11-2025 in three slots across the country. Candidates appearing in different sessions are eager to assess the CAT 2025 slot wise difficulty level and understand the overall paper trend. The exam continues to test candidates on VARC, DILR, and Quantitative Ability with a focus on conceptual clarity and time management.
CAT 2025 Slot Wise Overall Difficulty Level
The overall difficulty level of CAT 2025 varied slightly across slots, following the trend observed in previous years. Each slot maintained a balanced distribution of easy, moderate, and difficult questions. Before reviewing the sectional comparison, it is important to note that the difficulty perception may vary depending on individual preparation level. The overall structure remained unchanged, with a total of 66 questions divided across three sections.
Slot 2 was reported as the most time-consuming due to lengthier DILR sets and calculation-intensive Quantitative Ability questions.
CAT 2025 Section-Wise Difficulty Analysis
Each section in CAT 2025 followed a slightly different difficulty pattern across slots. Candidates faced varied question types and data interpretation formats. Before going into sectional trends, candidates must note that sectional time limits continued to remain fixed at 40 minutes per section. No extra time was provided for any section.
- VARC: Moderate difficulty with a mix of reading comprehension and verbal ability questions
- DILR: Moderate to difficult with lengthy data sets and higher logical complexity
- Quantitative Ability: Moderate with emphasis on arithmetic, algebra, and number systems
Reading comprehension passages remained inference-based, while Quant focused more on application-intensive problems.
CAT 2025 Good Attempts and Expected Cut Off Trend
Based on early feedback, good attempts in CAT 2025 ranged between 42 and 47 questions for candidates targeting top IIMs. Before estimating the cut off, it is important to note that normalization across slots will play a key role in final percentile calculation.
