The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 Slot Two concluded successfully on Sunday across test centres in major cities, with no major technical disruptions reported. The afternoon session witnessed heavy attendance, with candidates adhering to strict entry guidelines and identity verification procedures. According to first-level candidate feedback collected outside test venues, the overall difficulty level of Slot Two ranged from moderate to difficult, with notable variation across sections.
Section-Wise Difficulty Level of CAT 2025 Slot Two
Based on initial student reactions and coaching institute discussions, the section-wise difficulty stood as follows:
- VARC (Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension): Moderate The reading comprehension passages were of standard length with familiar themes. Verbal ability questions were largely manageable, though a few options were closely framed.
- DILR (Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning): Moderate to Difficult Most candidates reported that sets were time-consuming. Selection of the right sets played a key role in attempts. Two sets in particular were lengthy and calculation-heavy.
- Quantitative Ability: Difficult Quant emerged as the toughest section for many candidates. Questions were conceptually direct but required multi-step calculations. Algebra and arithmetic dominated the paper, while geometry had limited presence.
Candidate Reactions After Slot Two
Several repeat aspirants stated that Slot Two felt slightly tougher than their earlier attempts, particularly due to the unpredictability of the Quant section. Some candidates targeting top IIMs such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta expressed cautious optimism after attempting a balanced mix of questions. One repeat candidate from Delhi said that the paper structure remained similar to previous years, but time management became critical due to difficult numerical problems in the last section.
Exam Day Management and Entry Protocols
At several centres, support staff were seen assisting late-arriving candidates even up to ten minutes before the reporting cutoff, with names being called out repeatedly at entry gates. In a few centres, candidates who were held up due to last-minute delays were allowed entry after verification. The entry process included:
- Mandatory biometric verification
- Admit card and government ID check
- Frisking and restricted personal items compliance
The exam concluded without any large-scale technical complaints.
What to Expect Next?
With Slot Two completed, the focus now shifts to:
- Slot Three of CAT 2025, scheduled in the evening session
- Final analysis consolidation across all three slots
- Raw score vs percentile prediction trends
Experts expect that overall cut-offs for top IIMs may remain stable, though scaling across slots will play a decisive role in final percentiles.
