What Is Scaled Score in CAT 2025 Scorecard?
The CAT scorecard does not show raw marks. Instead, it displays the scaled score, which often creates confusion among candidates.
Scaled score in CAT refers to the normalized marks of a candidate. Since CAT is conducted in multiple slots, the difficulty level of question papers may vary. To ensure fairness, scores of all 2.58 lakh test takers are adjusted to a common scale.
For example, CAT 2025 Slot 3 was considered tougher than other slots. To prevent disadvantage to Slot 3 candidates, the scores of all candidates were normalized before percentile calculation. This process ensures equal opportunity during the CAT 2025 admission process.
