CAT 2025 exam was held today, November 30, 2025, by IIM Kozhikode across India. About 2.95 lakh candidates appeared for the CAT 2025 test. Many candidates felt mixed emotions after completing the paper.
Several candidates found the CAT 2025 question paper difficult. The test created uncertainty for many aspirants. However, exam experts suggest that this is the right time to plan the next move for MBA admissions.
CAT 2025 Exam Aftermath and Immediate Plan
The exam created pressure across centres today, but the focus now shifts to the next set of opportunities. CAT is not the final hurdle for management studies. It is only the beginning of the larger MBA admission cycle.
Candidates generally participate in multiple entrance exams. For many, the experience of CAT 2025 will help in improving accuracy and time management for upcoming tests.
Experts recommend taking a short break before restarting preparation. This helps candidates regain clarity before continuing with the next set of exams.
Upcoming MBA Entrance Exams After CAT 2025
A number of major exams are scheduled over the next few weeks. Aspirants can use this period to improve performance based on today’s learnings.
- SNAP 2025 will be held on December 6, 14 and 20.
- XAT 2026 is scheduled for January 4, 2026.
- CMAT 2026 dates are yet to be announced.
Candidates can utilise this extended timeline to prepare well. Those who missed registering for these exams can still apply for MAT 2025 by December 15, 2025. Several colleges accept MAT scores for PGDM and MBA admission.
These exams offer additional chances for candidates aiming for management programmes in reputed institutions.
Shortlisting Colleges Based on Estimated CAT 2025 Score
India has nearly 1,600 B-Schools that accept CAT scores for MBA and PGDM admissions. Not all institutes require very high percentiles.
- Tier 1 colleges usually have cut offs between 80 to 90 percentile.
- Tier 2 institutes often select candidates in the 70–80 percentile range.
- Tier 3 colleges accept candidates with cut offs between 60–70 percentile.
Candidates can shortlist institutes based on estimated performance. This ensures a strategic admission plan while waiting for the official CAT 2025 result.
Planning for CAT Again in the Next Cycle
CAT does not have a limit on attempts. Candidates who feel they did not meet expectations can prepare again for the next cycle. CAT 2025 can be viewed as a practice attempt for many.
CAT 2026 offers another opportunity to strengthen concepts and build accuracy. Consistent preparation and early planning can improve performance significantly.
