CAT 2025: 20-Day Preparation Plan Released, Mock Tests

With less than three weeks left for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025, experts have suggested a structured 20-day preparation plan focusing on mock tests, accuracy, and revision. The plan aims to help candidates enhance their percentile in the final stretch by focusing more on practice and time management rather than new topics. The final 20 days before CAT 2025 are crucial for refining strategies, revising formulas, and improving speed. Aspirants are advised to shift from learning mode to performance mode, emphasizing calmness, consistency, and targeted analysis.

First Week: Strengthen Core Concepts

During the first week, aspirants should prioritize reinforcing fundamental topics in all three sections—Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC).

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Revise Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Numbers; solve 30–40 questions daily.
  • DILR: Practice 2 sets a day, focusing on accuracy first.
  • VARC: Attempt 3–4 Reading Comprehension (RC) passages and 8–10 Verbal Ability (VA) questions daily.
  • Mock Tests: Attempt 1 sectional test and analyze weak areas.

This stage builds conceptual clarity, helping candidates identify problem patterns and strengthen fundamentals.

Second Week: Improve Speed and Accuracy

The second week is designed for applying knowledge through mocks and performance analysis. Aspirants should attempt 2–3 full-length mock tests during this period and spend adequate time reviewing errors.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Practice 40–45 questions daily, timing each attempt.
  • DILR: Solve 3 sets per day, including one challenging case.
  • VARC: Continue solving 3 RCs and 12 VA questions daily.
  • Analysis: Maintain a “mistake notebook” to track recurring errors and improve accuracy.

The emphasis remains on identifying gaps rather than taking excessive mocks.

Final Week: Exam Readiness and Confidence

The last week focuses on refining time management and reinforcing previously learned topics. Three full-length mocks should be taken in this phase to simulate real exam conditions.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: Attempt 50–60 questions daily within 35–40 minutes.
  • DILR: Solve 2–3 sets daily under timed conditions.
  • VARC: Focus on 2 RCs and 8–10 VA questions daily.
  • Revision: Spend 2 hours daily revising key formulas, notes, and mistake logs.

Experts also stress maintaining physical and mental well-being by ensuring proper rest, hydration, and relaxation before the exam.
