BSEB Class 12 Exams 2026 Start 2 Feb; Board Issues Important Guidelines

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has confirmed that the Class 12 (Intermediate) board examinations for 2026 will begin on 2 February 2026, running through the scheduled exam period under the board’s annual testing calendar. Students appearing for these exams must adhere strictly to the exam-day guidelines issued by the board to maintain discipline and fairness during the assessment process.

Schedule and Reporting Time Rules

According to the board’s directives:

• Exam start date: 2 February 2026
• Exam period: Concludes over the subsequent sessions, as per the official datesheet.

Students are expected to reach the examination centre well ahead of reporting time, as entry will not be permitted once the gate closes shortly before the scheduled start of each session. This measure aims to uphold the sanctity and orderliness of the exam proceedings.

Exam Conduct and Discipline Guidelines

The BSEB has emphasised strict compliance with exam norms, including:

• Timely reporting: Candidates must arrive before the time when gates close — generally 30 minutes before the official start time.
• No late entry: Entry after gates close is not permitted, and attempts at late entry may be treated as unlawful and disruptive to the exam integrity.
• Security checks: Students will be subject to frisking at two levels before entering the exam hall.
• Prohibited items: Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, pagers and similar items are strictly banned inside the exam venues.

The board has also set up control rooms in districts to coordinate smooth conduct of examinations and resolve issues in real time throughout the exam period

Exam Sessions and Attendance Protocol

The Intermediate exams will be conducted in two shifts:

• Morning session: Typically begins in the 9:30 AM slot with entry protocols starting much earlier.
• Afternoon session: Begins around 2 PM, with similar early gate closing rules.

Students must ensure they adhere to the designated shift reporting times, as late arrival is considered a violation of exam rules and can lead to disqualification.
