BPSC TRE 4.0 Recruitment 2026: Over 46,000 Teacher Vacancies Announced

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is gearing up to unveil the highly anticipated notification for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0 by April 19, 2026. This recruitment initiative aims to fill a substantial total of 46,882 teacher positions across the state, marking a significant opportunity for aspiring educators in Bihar.

The registration process for the TRE 4.0 is set to commence on April 25, 2026. Following the registration phase, candidates can expect the written examination to take place between September 22 and September 27, 2026. This timeline provides a clear roadmap for candidates as they prepare for one of the largest recruitment drives in the education sector.

BPSC TRE  Background and Context of the Recruitment Drive

The announcement of the TRE 4.0 notification comes after a prolonged period of uncertainty and protests from candidates who have been seeking clarity regarding the number of vacancies and the examination timeline. The situation escalated in September 2025, when Bihar's Education Minister, Sunil Kumar, indicated in a press conference that the notification would be issued within five days. He also mentioned that data regarding vacancies from various districts had already been collected and shared.

However, the delay in releasing the notification led to growing frustration among aspirants. Initially, the TRE 4.0 was expected to be conducted in December 2025, with results anticipated by January 2026. At that time, the estimated number of vacancies was around 26,000 to 27,000. The recent update, however, reveals a significantly higher number of available posts, indicating a more robust recruitment drive.

BPSC TRE  Protests and Student Concerns

The lead-up to the notification has been marked by protests from hundreds of aspirants in Patna, who demanded the timely release of the recruitment details. Tensions escalated further following the arrest of student leader Dileep Kumar in Darbhanga, which sparked widespread outrage online and raised questions about the government's responsiveness to student concerns.

Moreover, candidates have expressed their apprehensions regarding discrepancies in the reported number of vacancies. While the education department initially suggested that there were over 1.20 lakh teaching positions available, the BPSC later indicated a much lower figure. This inconsistency has fueled skepticism among potential applicants, particularly in light of previous issues, such as allegations of a paper leak during the TRE 3.0 examination.

BPSC TRE Previous Examination Results

In the midst of these developments, it is important to note that the results for TRE 3.0, which covered Classes 9 and 10, were announced on December 17, 2024. The results encompassed various subjects, including:

  • English
  • Hindi
  • Urdu
  • Bangla
  • Persian
  • Sanskrit
  • Arabic
  • Science
  • Mathematics
  • Social Science
  • Physical Education
  • Dance

As the new TRE 4.0 examination approaches, candidates are strongly advised to stay updated by regularly checking the official BPSC website for the latest information and to download the notification once it is released.
