The Bihar Public Service Commission will conduct the BPSC AEDO Exam 2026 in January 2026 as per the official annual examination calendar. The recruitment drive has witnessed an unprecedented response with 970000 applications received for 935 posts, making it the highest in the commission’s history. According to official data, the final phase of registration recorded an average of 75000 to 85000 applications per day, reflecting the intense competition for the post of Assistant Education Development Officer. The commission also confirmed that the online application system remained stable despite heavy traffic.

 

BPSC AEDO 2026 Vacancy and Salary Structure

Before analyzing the competitive intensity of the recruitment, it is important to understand the vacancy distribution and salary details released by the commission. The BPSC AEDO recruitment offers a Level 5 pay scale with a basic salary of INR 29200, which is subject to revision as per government norms. A total of 935 vacancies have been notified under this recruitment cycle. Out of these, 319 posts are reserved for women candidates, ensuring significant female participation in the education administration sector. Additional reservations have also been provided for candidates belonging to special categories including freedom fighter dependents and persons with disabilities. BPSC AEDO Exam Pattern 2026 and Selection Process

The BPSC AEDO selection process will be conducted through an objective-type written examination. The exam will comprise 3 separate papers, each carrying 100 marks with a duration of 2 hours per paper. The total assessment will therefore be of 300 marks. The first paper will assess English and Hindi language proficiency, with nearly 70 percent questions based on English. The second paper will focus on General Studies, while the third paper will evaluate General Aptitude. The final merit list will be prepared purely on the basis of performance in the written examination.
