A total of 5,401 candidates, who qualified the main examination, have been shortlisted to appear for the personality test round. BPSC 70th Interview Schedule and Candidate Details
The interview phase will be conducted in a structured manner, with a limited number of candidates appearing each day. This stage carries significant weight in the final merit calculation. Each interview will be evaluated for 120 marks, and around 10 to 20 candidates are expected to be interviewed per day. 70th BPSC Main Exam Performance and Evaluation Scheme
The 70th Combined Main Examination was conducted from 25 April to 30 April 2025 across 32 examination centres in Patna. A total of 20,034 candidates appeared for the mains examination. Out of these, 5,401 candidates qualified for the interview round. The final merit list will be prepared out of 1,020 marks, combining:
- 900 marks from the main written examination
- 120 marks from the interview stage
In case of a tie, candidates with higher marks in the main examination will be ranked higher. Reservation norms will be applied strictly while preparing the final results.
BPSC 70th Recruitment Vacancies and Selection Objective
The recruitment drive aims to fill 2,035 vacancies across various state administrative services. The selection process has been carried out in phases to ensure transparency and administrative efficiency. According to the commission, interviews will focus on candidates’ analytical ability, administrative understanding, and suitability for public service roles under the Bihar government.
Preliminary Exam Background and Candidate Turnout
The selection process began with the preliminary examination on 13 December 2023, which attracted 4.83 lakh applicants. Out of these, 3,28,990 candidates appeared across 912 centres statewide. Due to disruptions at the Bapu Examination Complex, the preliminary exam was partially re-conducted on 04 January 2024 for nearly 12,000 candidates, with 5,900 appearing in the re-exam. The preliminary results were declared on 24 January 2024, following which 21,581 candidates qualified for the main examination.
