BIT Mesra RESCOL-VI 2026 on July 14–15 for PhD Research Scholars

Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra is set to host the 6th Research Colloquium (RESCOL-VI) on July 14, 2026, and July 15, 2026. The two-day academic event will provide a common platform for doctoral scholars to present their ongoing research, interact with experts, and engage in meaningful academic discussions. The colloquium will feature participants from the BIT Mesra main campus, its extension centres, and selected premier educational and research institutions across the country. The institute organises the annual research colloquium to promote innovation, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthen the overall research ecosystem. The event is expected to witness presentations from scholars working on diverse research problems in engineering, sciences, management, architecture, pharmaceutical sciences, and humanities.

What is BIT Mesra RESCOL-VI 2026?

The Research Colloquium (RESCOL-VI) is an academic platform dedicated to doctoral researchers, enabling them to present their work before faculty members, researchers, and industry experts. Apart from showcasing research findings, the event also encourages constructive discussions, networking opportunities, and collaborative learning among participants. Through oral and poster presentations, research scholars will receive valuable feedback that can help improve the quality and impact of their ongoing doctoral work. The colloquium also highlights emerging technologies, scientific discoveries, and innovative research methodologies being developed across various disciplines.

BIT Mesra RESCOL-VI 2026 Academic Groups and Disciplines

To ensure focused discussions, the colloquium has been divided into five thematic groups covering a broad spectrum of academic disciplines.

The grouping allows participants to interact with researchers working in similar domains while also promoting interdisciplinary academic engagement throughout the event.

Research Presentation Formats at RESCOL-VI 2026

The organisers have planned multiple presentation formats to provide researchers with an opportunity to communicate their findings effectively. During the colloquium, scholars will present their work through:

  • Oral presentations
  • Poster presentations

These sessions will enable participants to explain their research objectives, methodologies, findings, and future scope before expert panels. Faculty members and industry professionals will provide academic feedback and suggestions that can contribute to further research development.

Awards to Recognise Outstanding Research Presentations

To encourage academic excellence, BIT Mesra will honour outstanding research contributions made during the colloquium. Separate awards will be presented for:

  • Best Oral Presentation
  • Best Poster Presentation

The awards will be given in each of the five thematic groups, recognising both the quality of research and the effectiveness of its presentation. The initiative aims to motivate young researchers to pursue high-quality, impactful, and innovative research.

Why is RESCOL-VI important for PhD Scholars?

Research colloquia play an important role in the academic journey of doctoral candidates. Such events allow scholars to present their work before experienced academicians, receive expert guidance, and improve their research through constructive criticism. RESCOL-VI will also create opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together researchers from different departments and institutions. The exchange of ideas is expected to encourage innovation and help scholars explore new approaches to addressing complex research challenges.
