Bihar’s state administration will prioritise efforts to generate one crore government jobs and broader employment opportunities by 2030, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has announced. The ambitious target was outlined during his address at a Republic Day function in Patna on 26 January 2026. The governor said the government will pursue the goal in a mission mode, focusing on both filling vacant posts and creating new roles where needed. This plan aims to significantly boost employment prospects for youth across the state over the coming years.

 

Priority Focus on Employment Creation

During the Republic Day gathering at Gandhi Maidan, the governor emphasised that job creation is among the top priorities for the state government through 2030. The administration will work to expand both government positions and wider job opportunities, complementing existing recruitment and growth strategies Governor Khan highlighted that significant progress has already been made, with tens of thousands of government positions filled and other employment avenues expanded in recent years.

 

Broader Development Goals and Initiatives

The governor also spoke about ongoing efforts to improve the overall livelihood and welfare environment in the state. These include bolstering safety and law enforcement, strengthening health infrastructure, and enhancing support for entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment through financial incentives. He noted that police strength has been expanded to improve public safety and that various welfare schemes are supporting women in starting small businesses.

With the target set for 2030, Bihar will continue to focus on youth employment, aiming to equip the next generation with more stable job prospects.
