Bharti Airtel Foundation Launches Multi-Year Scholarship for ISB PGP

The Indian School of Business (ISB) has announced the launch of the Bharti Airtel Scholarship, a multi-year initiative established by the Bharti Airtel Foundation to support students enrolled in the Post Graduate Programme in Management for Young Leaders (PGP YL). The new scholarship aims to expand access to quality management education and promote inclusivity among talented students from diverse backgrounds.

Scholarship Details and Benefits

Under this initiative, five students from each PGP YL cohort—known as Bharti Scholars—will receive full or partial tuition waivers, along with coverage for accommodation and meal expenses. The scholarship follows a structured need-cum-merit selection process designed to identify and support promising candidates with strong academic and leadership potential. According to a statement by the Foundation, the programme reinforces Bharti Airtel’s commitment to improving access to higher education and nurturing future leaders.

Bharti Airtel Foundation’s Vision

Speaking on the launch, Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Co-Chairman of the Bharti Airtel Foundation, said that education remains the cornerstone of progress and empowerment. He added, “Bharti’s long-standing association with ISB makes this partnership a natural step in expanding our higher education initiatives. Through the Bharti Airtel Scholarship, we are proud to support exceptional minds — our Bharti Scholars — who will become the changemakers of tomorrow.”

ISB’s Response to the Collaboration

Professor Madan Pillutla, Dean of ISB, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its vision and generosity. He remarked, “This partnership with the Bharti Airtel Foundation marks a significant step in fostering inclusive excellence and nurturing the next generation of leaders for India and beyond.” The dean also emphasized that the scholarship will help open doors for deserving PGP YL students to benefit from ISB’s transformative leadership ecosystem.

Bharti Airtel Foundation’s Education Impact

Over the years, the Bharti Airtel Foundation has supported more than 2,000 scholars, nearly 44% of them girls, through its various education initiatives. The Foundation continues to create learning opportunities for students from underserved communities, contributing to the vision of accessible and equitable education in India.
