The state education authorities in Assam have opened registration for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) 2025 for Class 8 students. A total of 2,411 scholarships will be awarded this year across Assam. The selection test is scheduled for December 13, 2025, at around 160 exam centres.

Additionally, top three students in each government or provincialised school will get an exemption from the exam fee — provided they meet criteria.
