Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026 Schedule Released: Check Round 1 Registration, Choice Filling & Dates

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has released the Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026 schedule for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes under the state quota. The Round 1 counselling process is being conducted for 85% state-quota seats in Assam medical and dental colleges.

According to the schedule, Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026 registration has started today, August 13, and will remain open until August 15, 2026, up to 11:55 PM. Candidates who are eligible for Assam state counselling should complete registration within the prescribed deadline.

The counselling covers more than 1,600 MBBS seats and 176 BDS seats across 12 medical and three dental colleges in the state. Candidates are required to hold a valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of Assam to participate.

Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026: Complete Round 1 Schedule

The DME Assam has notified the dates for registration, choice filling, choice locking, seat allotment processing and result declaration.

The schedule is applicable specifically to Assam NEET UG state counselling and should not be confused with the separate MCC NEET UG counselling schedule.

What Happens After Registration?

Once registration closes, candidates will move to the choice-filling stage from August 16 to August 18. During this period, candidates can select their preferred medical and dental colleges and courses according to their NEET rank, eligibility and admission preferences.

The choice-locking facility will be available on August 18 from 5 PM to 11:55 PM. Candidates should review their choices carefully before locking them because the submitted preferences will be used during the seat-allotment process.

Assam NEET UG Seat Allotment Result 2026

After the choice-locking window closes, the authority will process the seat allotment from August 19 to August 21. The Assam NEET UG Counselling Round 1 Result 2026 is scheduled to be announced on August 22.

The allotment will determine the MBBS or BDS seat offered to eligible candidates based on the applicable counselling rules, candidate preferences and available seats. Candidates who receive a seat should carefully follow the instructions issued with the allotment result regarding reporting and admission.
