Assam HS Result 2026 Date Confirmed for April 28

The Chief Minister took to social media to share the official result date, stating, “Higher Secondary results will be declared on 28th April. My best wishes to all students appearing for the exam.” This announcement is particularly significant for the over three lakh students who have been eagerly awaiting the results, especially as the undergraduate admission process approaches.

Prior to this confirmation, a misleading notice circulating online had suggested an earlier release date. An official from ASSEB, speaking on the condition of anonymity, clarified that the notice was fabricated and that no decision regarding the result date had been finalized at that time. This clarification was crucial as it alleviated the mounting anxiety among students and their families.

Examination Overview

The Assam HS examinations for 2026 took place from February 13 to March 17, covering a range of subjects across various streams, including Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational studies. Practical examinations were conducted in late January and early February. This year, approximately 3.3 lakh candidates participated in the exams, with the Arts stream accounting for the largest number of candidates at around 2.4 lakh. Science and Commerce streams had over 55,000 and 17,000 candidates, respectively.

All results will be announced simultaneously for each stream, ensuring that students receive their scores on the same day.

Historical Context of Result Announcements

The decision to declare the results on April 28 aligns with recent trends observed in Assam's educational calendar. In the previous years, the HS results were announced on April 30 in 2025 and in early May in 2024. The ASSEB has been progressively moving towards earlier result announcements to synchronize with national higher education admission timelines, which is crucial for students seeking to enroll in undergraduate programs.

Last year, the overall pass percentage was notably high, exceeding 88 percent, with the Science stream achieving the highest success rate among the major disciplines. This year's performance will be closely monitored as students aim for competitive spots in universities and professional courses.

Official Channels for Result Checking

Students will be able to access their results through official portals set up by ASSEB once they are activated on April 28. The board has strongly advised candidates to refrain from relying on unofficial websites or social media rumors, emphasizing the importance of tracking only verified updates to avoid misinformation.

With the official result date now confirmed, the focus shifts from speculation to performance, as students across Assam prepare for one of the most anticipated announcements of their academic careers.
