The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) has announced that the Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examination 2026 will be conducted in February–March 2026. The board has also extended the online application form submission deadline to November 25, 2025. Students can apply only through the official online portal; offline submissions will not be accepted under any circumstance.
Key Highlights of Assam HS Final Exam 2026 Registration
- Eligibility: Only students enrolled in recognized institutions are considered regular candidates. Those from non-recognized institutions during 2024–25 will be classified as Institutional Private (IP) candidates and must pay additional fees.
- Registration Validity: A student’s registration number remains valid for five years from the year of registration. Missing the deadline will bar candidates from appearing in 2026 exams.
- Fee Exemption: Students from government, provincialised, and recognized venture institutions with annual parental income ≤ Rs 2 lakh are exempted from examination fees.
Special Categories and Schemes
ASSEB has clarified several schemes for students seeking to improve or reappear in exams:
Betterment and Re-appearance Details
- Betterment Scheme: Allows re-examination of up to four subjects; practical papers included if applicable. Students surrender old marksheets upon retaking exams.
- Re-appearance Scheme: Helps candidates enhance their overall performance for competitive exams such as engineering or medical entrance exams. Only the improved result will be counted.
Candidates are advised to complete the online registration before November 25, 2025, and carefully select the scheme applicable to their status. Regular updates and instructions will be available on the official ASSEB website.
