The Assam government cancelled the initial CCE 2024 results due to an error in reservation allocation for the Moran community. The Assam Public Service Commission has now published the revised and corrected final merit list online.
Assam CCE 2024 Result Revised After Reservation Discrepancy was announced after the state government identified an error in the reservation allocation during the declaration of results. The corrected merit list has now been released by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). Officials clarified that the examination process remained transparent despite the discrepancy.
Assam CCE 2024 Result Cancellation and Rectification Details
The final results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 were initially declared on 17 February 2026 by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). However, the result was withdrawn shortly after publication following complaints regarding reservation allocation. According to the state government, the discrepancy arose in the implementation of reservation provisions for the Moran community. The recruitment advertisement had specified reservation of one post each for the Moran and Motak communities under the OBC/MOBC quota in:
- Assam Civil Service (Junior Grade)
- Assam Police Service (Junior Grade)
The reservation arrangement was issued under an official order dated 19 October 2023 and is valid for a period of five years. While the initial result included reservation for the Motak community, the post earmarked for the Moran community was reportedly not reflected correctly. After receiving complaints from representatives of the Moran community, including the Moran Students' Union, the commission reviewed the matter.
Revised APSC CCE 2024 Final Merit List Released
Following the review, the APSC cancelled the earlier declaration and issued a rectified final result on 18 February 2026. The revised merit list has been uploaded on the official APSC website. The government stated that the Combined Competitive Examination 2024 was conducted in a fair and transparent manner, and the discrepancy was limited to the reservation allocation at the result stage. Corrective steps were taken promptly to ensure compliance with the notified reservation policy. Candidates are advised to check the updated merit list and related notifications on the official portal for confirmation of their selection status. Further processes, including service allocation and appointment formalities, are expected to proceed based on the revised results. The development highlights the importance of strict adherence to reservation policies in competitive recruitment examinations such as the Assam Civil Services and allied services selection process.
