Arham Jain's Journey to 99% in CBSE Class 10 Exams

On April 15, 2026, when the results of the CBSE Class 10 examinations were announced, students across the nation experienced a whirlwind of emotions. Among them was Arham Jain, a student from VIBGYOR High in Gurugram, who achieved an impressive 99% in his best five subjects. This remarkable feat was not just a number; it was a testament to his disciplined approach and strategic mindset.

As the notification flashed on screens, Arham's heart raced with anticipation. The moment he saw his score, disbelief washed over him. "I could not believe my eyes," he recalled, overwhelmed by a mix of joy and relief. This achievement was not merely an academic milestone; it symbolized the culmination of months of hard work and dedication.

Arham Jain's  Unique Approach to Studying

Arham’s philosophy towards studying diverges from the conventional wisdom that equates long hours with success. He firmly believes in the principle of quality over quantity. "I do not believe in studying for long hours," he stated. Instead, he focused on short, intense study sessions that allowed him to retain information more effectively. This approach enabled him to complete his syllabus by late summer, freeing him to engage in thorough revision without the stress of last-minute cramming.

His preparation was methodical. Arham diligently completed between 50 to 70 sample papers, analyzing each one to identify areas needing improvement. This structured practice not only honed his skills but also built his confidence. "I think I have given some 50 to 70 sample papers," he noted, emphasizing the importance of feedback from teachers who guided him through the process.

Arham Jain's Balancing Academics and Extracurriculars

Unlike many students who withdraw from extracurricular activities during critical exam periods, Arham maintained a balance between academics and personal interests. His involvement in activities such as Model United Nations and Indian Youth Parliament contributed significantly to his profile and personal development. He stated, "They helped in my profile building, personality development."

Incorporating breaks into his study routine was another key aspect of his strategy. Engaging in badminton and playing the guitar provided necessary relief from the pressures of study, helping him to avoid burnout. "I ensured that I took small breaks, which helped me unwind all the pressure," he explained. This balance between work and play is crucial, especially during a year filled with academic challenges.

The Role of Environment and Arham Jain's  Mindset

Arham credits much of his success to the supportive environment cultivated by his family and school. "At home and school, there was not a lot of pressure," he shared. His parents encouraged him to view the exams as just another set of assessments, which helped him maintain a calm demeanor throughout the process. This perspective allowed him to approach his studies without the weight of undue stress.

However, his journey was not without its challenges. Arham experienced days when motivation waned and focus slipped. He candidly admitted, "Yes, there were a lot of days when I did not feel like studying." Instead of forcing himself, he chose to engage in hobbies that rejuvenated his spirit. This understanding that rest is essential rather than a distraction is a lesson many students overlook.

Arham Jain's  Lessons Learned and Future Aspirations

Arham's success is rooted in several core principles: maintaining a balanced routine, believing in the guidance of his teachers, and fostering a calm study environment. He emphasizes the importance of persistence over perfection, stating, "Quality over quantity, a balanced routine, belief in my teachers, and a calm environment." His gratitude towards those who supported him, including his family and teachers, underscores the collaborative nature of his achievement.

Looking ahead, Arham has set his sights on becoming an environmental engineer and earth scientist. He has chosen subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) with computer science as a step towards this goal. His approach to education is deliberate and unhurried, reflecting a maturity that is often rare among students.
