Masai, in collaboration with I-Hub IIT Patna, has introduced a four-month online certification programme in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Essentials. The programme will be taught in Hindi, Telugu, Marathi and Tamil, making it one of the first IIT-associated technology courses delivered in multiple regional languages.
The initiative arrives at a time when the demand for AI and ML skills is rising across industries. Surveys show that nearly 70% of enterprises consider these technologies crucial for competitive growth, while 75% expect to integrate AI and ML into decision-making. Despite this rapid expansion, the supply of trained talent remains limited, especially in non-metro regions.
Many educators believe that capable students hesitate to enrol in advanced technical programmes because of language barriers. Offering instruction in regional languages aims to bridge this gap and support learners who may not be comfortable studying complex concepts in English. The effort is expected to help expand access to technology education and strengthen the workforce for emerging AI-driven roles.
AI and ML Programme Curriculum Details
The curriculum starts with core programming skills and moves toward advanced machine learning concepts. Students begin with Python programming and data visualization, building the foundation needed for analytical tasks. The course then covers key machine learning areas such as regression, classification, clustering and model evaluation.
Learners also study deep learning topics, including neural networks, CNNs, RNNs, Transformers and reinforcement learning. Advanced modules introduce concepts in NLP, generative models, AutoML, MLOps and cloud deployment, ensuring that participants gain exposure to modern AI workflows. Ethical considerations in AI use are integrated throughout the course to help learners understand responsible application.
Projects, Assessments and Certification
Participants will work on practical assignments to strengthen their understanding. The programme includes hands-on projects such as customer segmentation, image classification and text-based applications. These tasks are designed to help learners build strong portfolios that demonstrate their ability to apply AI and ML concepts to real business problems.
Those who complete the coursework and assessments successfully will receive a certification from Vishlesan I-Hub, IIT Patna.
