The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (AP SET) 2025 online application window closes today, 9 February 2026. Eligible postgraduate candidates must submit their forms through the official portal before the deadline to appear in the upcoming eligibility examination.

AP SET 2025 Application Deadline and Mode

The AP SET 2025 is being organised by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh government. This state-level eligibility test determines qualification for appointment as Assistant Professor and Lecturer in universities and colleges across Andhra Pradesh. According to the official timetable, the last date to apply without late fee is 9 February 2026. Candidates who miss this deadline may still submit applications during the late-fee period, which runs until 25 February 2026 upon payment of an additional fee. Applications must be submitted online only via the official AP SET website. Aspirants are advised to complete all required steps — including personal details, educational qualifications, and fee payment — before the portal closes at midnight.

Examination Dates and Pattern

The AP SET 2025 will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT), with examinations scheduled on 28 and 29 March 2026. The test typically consists of two papers — one focusing on Teaching and Research Aptitude and another on the Subject Paper — aligned with UGC norms for eligibility tests. Along with applying, candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria, which generally require a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university with a minimum qualifying mark as prescribed in the official notification.

Eligibility and Hall Ticket Details

Only postgraduate candidates satisfying the AP SET eligibility norms are permitted to register. Once applications are successfully submitted, the hall ticket will be made available for download ahead of the exam — typically a few weeks before the scheduled dates. Candidates should regularly check the official AP SET portal for updates on admit card release, exam centres, and other critical instructions.

Importance of AP SET for Teaching Careers

The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test plays a vital role in the academic career pathway for aspiring teachers. Successful candidates become eligible for selection as Assistant Professors in higher education institutions within Andhra Pradesh, in line with UGC eligibility norms. With today marking the final deadline to apply without late fee, aspirants yet to complete their registration are urged to finish the process promptly to avoid missing this opportunity.
