The Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test (AP LAWCET) 2026 is a key state-level entrance exam for admission into 3-year and 5-year LLB programs. Understanding the exam pattern, duration, and sectional weightage is crucial for candidates to plan their preparation effectively.
AP LAWCET 2026 Exam Pattern Overview
The AP LAWCET 2026 exam will be conducted online (Computer-Based Test) in both English and Telugu languages. The total duration is 90 minutes, and the paper consists of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) across three sections. There is no negative marking, and each correct answer carries one mark.
Sectional Weightage of AP LAWCET 2026
Candidates can plan their preparation better by knowing the weightage of questions in each section. Section C, covering Aptitude for the Study of Law, has the highest number of questions.
AP LAWCET 2026 vs AP PGLCET 2026 Pattern
While AP LAWCET is for LLB programs, AP PGLCET is for LLM courses. Both exams are online with MCQs but differ in subjects and structure:
- AP PGLCET has 120 questions, split into Part A (Jurisprudence & Constitutional Law) and Part B covering Public International Law, Mercantile Law, Labour Law, Crimes & Torts, and Intellectual Property Rights.
- PGLCET is conducted only in English, unlike LAWCET which also offers Telugu.
