JNTU Kakinada has announced the AP EAMCET 2026 qualifying marks for Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy admissions in Andhra Pradesh. General, BC, and EWS category candidates must score at least 40 out of 160 marks to qualify, while no minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for SC and ST candidates.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada has officially released the AP EAMCET 2026 qualifying marks for candidates appearing in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test. The qualifying criteria have been published on the official admission portal and are crucial for candidates seeking admission into engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy courses across Andhra Pradesh colleges.
The qualifying marks determine whether candidates become eligible for the counselling and admission process under the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education admission system. Candidates who fail to secure the minimum qualifying marks may not be considered for rank allotment and counselling in most categories.
AP EAMCET 2026 Qualifying Marks for General, BC, and EWS Candidates
According to the officially released criteria, candidates belonging to the Open Category (OC), Backward Classes (BC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) must secure a minimum of 40 marks out of 160, which equals 25% of the total marks, to qualify in the AP EAMCET 2026 examination. The category-wise qualifying marks are listed below:
The relaxation for SC and ST category candidates has been provided to ensure broader participation and access to higher education opportunities in professional courses.
No Minimum Qualifying Marks for SC and ST Candidates
One of the major highlights of the AP EAMCET qualifying criteria is that candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are exempted from minimum qualifying mark requirements.
This means SC and ST candidates can still become eligible for ranking and counselling participation even if they score below the standard 25% qualifying threshold applicable to General and BC category students. However, admission into specific colleges and branches will still depend on counselling cutoffs, reservation policies, seat availability, and competition levels during the admission rounds.
AP EAMCET 2026 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
The AP EAMCET 2026 examination was conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for admissions into engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy programmes in Andhra Pradesh. The examination pattern included objective-type questions from:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
For Engineering stream candidates:
Each question carries one mark, and importantly, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers in the AP EAMCET examination. This allows candidates to attempt all questions without the risk of losing marks for wrong responses.
AP EAMCET 2026 Cutoff and Counselling Process
The qualifying marks are separate from the actual admission cutoff ranks released during counselling. While candidates need to qualify in the examination to become eligible, admissions into colleges are based on:
- AP EAMCET rank
- Category reservation
- College preference
- Branch demand
- Seat availability
- Counselling round performance
The official AP EAMCET 2026 cutoffs will later be released in the form of opening and closing ranks for participating institutes after each counselling round. Highly competitive branches such as:
- Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
- Artificial Intelligence
- Data Science
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
usually witness significantly lower closing ranks in top colleges across Andhra Pradesh.
How AP EAMCET 2026 Rank Is Calculated?
The AP EAMCET rank calculation process involves combined performance evaluation based on entrance examination scores and intermediate marks, subject to the prevailing admission policy announced by the authorities. Candidates with higher scores in the AP EAMCET examination generally receive better ranks and improved admission opportunities during counselling. The ranking process is particularly important because admission into top engineering and pharmacy institutions largely depends on final rank positions secured by candidates.
AP EAMCET 2026 Answer Key Released Recently
The release of qualifying marks comes shortly after the publication of the AP EAMCET 2026 provisional answer key by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. Candidates were recently given the opportunity to verify responses and raise objections against discrepancies in the provisional key. The objection process allows students to challenge incorrect answers before the final answer key and result declaration. Authorities are expected to release the final results after reviewing all submitted objections.
AP EAMCET 2026 Results Expected Soon
Following the release of the answer key and qualifying criteria, candidates are now awaiting the official AP EAMCET 2026 result announcement. The final result will include:
- Subject-wise marks
- Total score
- Rank obtained
- Qualifying status
- Percentile details
The results will play a decisive role in the counselling and seat allotment process for admissions into engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy colleges across Andhra Pradesh.
Students Discuss Expected Ranks and College Options Online
Following the release of the provisional answer key, many AP EAMCET candidates have been actively discussing expected scores, ranks, and college possibilities on online student forums and social media platforms.
Several students have expressed concerns regarding rank predictions and admission chances for Computer Science and related branches based on their estimated marks. Experts advise candidates not to rely entirely on unofficial rank predictions and instead wait for the official results and counselling schedules before making admission decisions.
Candidates Advised to Monitor Official Counselling Updates
Candidates who qualify in AP EAMCET 2026 are advised to regularly monitor official notifications regarding:
- Result declaration
- Rank cards
- Counselling registration
- Web option entry
- Seat allotment schedules
- Document verification
The counselling process is expected to begin after the declaration of final results and publication of institute-wise cutoff ranks by the authorities.
