Amrita Vishwavidyapeetham has revised the BTech admission eligibility criteria for 2026, lowering the minimum percentage in PCM from 60% to 55%.

Amrita BTech Admission 2026 Eligibility Revised: Key Changes

Amrita Vishwavidyapeetham has introduced major changes to the Amrita BTech Admission 2026 eligibility criteria for candidates applying through the Amrita Entrance Examination Engineering (AEEE) and JEE Main scores. The revised norms are expected to benefit a larger number of engineering aspirants across the country.

The university has reduced the minimum aggregate marks requirement in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from 60% to 55%. However, candidates must still secure at least 50% marks individually in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in Class 12 examinations.

Amrita BTech Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria Revised for AEEE Candidates

The revised eligibility requirements have been introduced to make the admission process more inclusive for students aiming to pursue engineering courses at Amrita campuses. The updated criteria will apply to candidates seeking admission through both AEEE 2026 ranks and JEE Main 2026 percentile or rank.

Before applying for counselling and seat allotment, candidates must carefully check the revised admission requirements mentioned by the university. The updated eligibility conditions include the following:

  • Candidates must have completed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
  • Applicants are now required to secure a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in PCM subjects.
  • Students must individually score at least 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • A valid AEEE 2026 rank or JEE Main 2026 score is mandatory for participation in the admission process.

The revised cutoff is expected to increase participation from students who were previously unable to meet the higher aggregate requirement.

Amrita BTech CSAP 2026 Registration Deadline and Counselling Process

Candidates seeking admission to BTech programmes must complete registration for the Centralized Seat Allotment Process (CSAP) 2026 before the deadline. The university has confirmed that the registration window will close on May 27, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

The counselling process is conducted entirely in online mode, allowing candidates to complete registration and preference submission without visiting any campus physically. Students are advised to complete all required formalities before the closing time to avoid last-minute technical issues. The CSAP 2026 registration process includes the following steps:

  1. OTP verification through registered mobile number or email ID
  2. Submission of academic and admission details
  3. Selection of campus and branch preferences
  4. Payment of the counselling registration fee
  5. Final submission of choices and confirmation

Candidates must pay a counselling registration fee of INR 5000 to participate in the seat allotment process.

Amrita BTech 2026 Campus and Branch Preference Details

During the counselling registration process, candidates can submit a maximum of 60 academic preferences. These preferences include combinations of BTech branches and campuses offered by the university. The university currently offers engineering programmes across multiple campuses in India. Students can choose their preferred campus and course combinations during online counselling. The available campuses for Amrita BTech Admission 2026 are listed below:

  • Amaravati
  • Amritapuri
  • Bengaluru
  • Chennai
  • Coimbatore
  • Nagercoil
  • Faridabad
  • Haridwar

Candidates are advised to carefully prioritise their preferences based on branch availability, seat intake, and campus location before final submission.

AEEE 2026 Admission Process Through JEE Main Scores

Apart from AEEE scores, candidates can also apply for admission using valid JEE Main 2026 percentile or rank. The university accepts both entrance pathways for BTech admissions across its campuses. Applicants using JEE Main scores must still satisfy the revised academic eligibility requirements announced for the 2026 admission cycle.

The university is expected to release further seat allotment schedules and admission updates after the closure of the counselling registration process. Candidates should regularly monitor the official admission portal for allotment announcements and document verification schedules.

Amrita BTech Admission 2026 Changes Expected to Benefit More Students

The reduction in PCM aggregate eligibility from 60% to 55% is being viewed as a major relief for engineering aspirants. The revised policy may improve accessibility for students from different educational backgrounds while maintaining subject-level academic standards.

With the CSAP 2026 registration deadline ending today, eligible candidates are advised to complete their application and counselling process before the portal closes. The revised eligibility criteria, combined with online counselling and multiple campus options, are expected to increase participation in the Amrita BTech Admission 2026 process.
